What is Nippers
"Nippers" is an activity-based program run to educate young children about surf safety and awareness when visiting a beach or aquatic environment. The nipper program also offers the participants the opportunity to meet a new set of friends whilst they are being challenged in activities controlled within a learning environment. Nippers interested, the program also introduces the competitive side of surf lifesaving.
The nipper program is held during the summer period on Sunday mornings starting at 09:00. The season usually starts in October after school holidays and lasts until the Easter school holidays, with a break over the Christmas period.
What happens on Sundays
There are a few rules to follow to make your day safe and enjoyable:

Be punctual, Nippers start at 9.00am SHARP

Please wear sun protection (block out and zinc)

Nipper hats must be worn until you sign off at the conclusion of your events

Absolutely no playing in the water when any competition is on

You must sign on with your Age Manager at the commencement and sign off at the completion of nippers

No sand throwing

Get Involved & Education
Maroubra Surf lifesaving Club runs a number of courses.
- Officials courses
- Level one (1) Coaching Accreditation
- Bronze Medallion course
- Advance Resuscitation
- IRB drivers (Rubber Duckie)
If there is a course that interests you please register your interest by e-mail or call Tim Murray on 0411 129 426. Officials in particular are needed by the club.
Training
Training will conducted through out the season with dates, times and venues are to be announced. It is recommended if you wish to compete at the state titles, involvement in training is a must.
